PERSONAL SAFETY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ABOUT COURSE
This training is intended to meet the requirements set out in Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code for training in personal safety and social responsibilities. The training forms part of the requirements for basic training for seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship on the business of that ship as part of the ship’s complement with designated safety or pollution prevention duties in the operation of the ship. The training must be undertaken before new entrants are assigned to any such shipboard duties.
Course Aims:
After the successful completion of the course, the participant should be able to know:
– Comply with emergency procedures;
– Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment;
– Observe safe working practices;
– Contribute to effective communications on board ship;
– Contribute to effective human relationships on board ship;
– Understand and take necessary actions to control fatigue.

Learning Process:
The training will be a combination of theoretical lessons and practical exercises.
Entry Requirement / Target Group:
Entry to this course is open for Deck & Engine (Ratings & Officers).
Course Certificate:
A Certificate of Completion is given to each candidate who fulfills the Course by the Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities as a theoretical and practical skills.
